Colorado Bend State Park Two hours outside of Austin, this park contains 35 miles of hiking and biking trails through the forest and river gorge, with access to the Spicewood Springs swimming hole and a 70-foot-high Gorman Falls. Campers can also kayak on the Colorado River or join a guided tour of the underground caves. Lake Somerville State Park Drive an hour and a half to find the three creeks and 11,000 acres of open water at Lake Somerville State Park.
