Currently working for Parsello as a delivery driver, Nathaniel Whittle graduated from Williams College in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in economics. In addition, Nathaniel Whittle was also a National Merit finalist in 2012. The National Merit Program is supported by the United States Federal Government to recognize high scholastic achievement and provide merit-based scholarships.
The National Merit Program begins when junior level high school students take the Preliminary SAT exam. After the score results of all the students are counted, the top one percent is considered for qualifying as a semifinalist. Of that number, only the 15,000 students with the highest scores are chosen as finalists. This is out of the original pool of students, which is often over 1.5 million across the country. By becoming a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program, students can apply for the National Merit Scholarship, of which only 7,500 will be accepted, but the scholarship can be renewed yearly. The application process requires SAT scores similar to the PSAT, a personal essay, and high school transcripts.
